Surface Water and Groundwater Courses

Edumine is an Internet source of online continuing education and technical reference for the mining and geoscience communities . Currently there are no courses specifically for groundwater or surface water, however there are a number of excellent courses offered in exploration, evaluation, engineering, environment, mining, management, mineral processing, and computer application.

The National Groundwater Association (NGWA) site has a listing of NGWA short courses offered by agencies in the United States for their continuing education programs. The NGWA Events page has a calendar of events relating to the ground water industry.

The Princeton Groundwater Inc. site provides a listing of groundwater modelling courses offered in the United States. Many of the courses are affiliated with the courses offered by the NGWA. Some of the software packages taught are Visual MODFLOW, FLOWPATH, RT3D and the WH1 Unsat Suite for 1D transport.

Waterloo Hydrogeologic does training internationally for their groundwater modeling software. They provide software in aqueous geochemistry, borehole geology, groundwater modeling, natural attenuation, parameter estimation, pumping test analysis, risk assessment, software utilities, unsaturated zone modeling and 2-D/3-D visualization.

Geo-Slope International does training internationally for their geotechnical and geo-environmental modeling software. SEEP/W, VADOSE/W, SEEP/3D and CTRAN/W are examples of Geo-Slope's modeling software developed for groundwater and contaminant modeling.

SoilVision Systems Ltd. provides training in the area of applying unsaturated soil technology using databases. SoilVision Systems Ltd. applies database technology to the management of soil properties and the analysis of soil processes. Their goal is to provide the professional with software which provides seamless integration between the soils laboratory and visualization of data in a variety of formats including GIS, standard laboratory reports (i.e., borehole logs), and modeling packages.
