Currenly a partner in the consulting firm MESH Environmental Inc., she was RGC's senior geochemist from 1996 to January 2005. During that time she was responsible for all aspects of geochemical investigations for RGC. She has significant experience in field work and modeling studies, multi-stakeholder facilitation and closure planning. She has published scientific papers in the areas of mine waste characterization, acid generation prediction, decision making for mine reclamation and custodial transfer.

Some of Ms. Shaw's areas of consulting practice include:

 Patrick Bryan

Mr. Bryan has collaborated extensively with RGC on the following projects:
  • Britannia Mine (B.C.) reclamation study
  • Cantung Mine (N.W.T.) site water and chemical load balance study
  • Faro Mine (Yukon) site water and chemical load balance study
  • Pogo Project (Alaska) water balances for tailings impoundments
  • Questa Mine (New Mexico) comprehensive site water and chemical load balance studies

 Jim Mathis

Based in Washington state, Dr. Mathis operates an international practice focusing solely on premium rock mechanics engineering and rock mass characterization work, primarily for the mining industry.

Originally from Nevada, he obtained a degree in mining engineering from University of Nevada - Reno in 1981. He was employed after graduation with Call and Nicholas, conducting statistical rock mechanic source code development and statistical rock mechanics design. He returned to school in January 1984 and graduated with a doctorate degree in rock mechanics from the University of Lulea (Sweden) in 1988. Employment thereafter was primarily with Steffen Robertson and Kirsten as their senior North American rock mechanics engineer. He resigned this position in August of 1995 and began Zostrich Geotechnical (formally Ursa Engineering).

His 18 years of experience are primarily in statistical characterization of rock masses and design of excavations in rock. He has had sole responsibility for characterization of , and rock mechanics design for, a number of operations, including BHP Diamonds sampling declines and open pit operations in the NWT, Barrick's Meikle mine (feasibility study, Nevada), and Getchell's Turquoise Ridge (feasibility, Nevada), amongst others. On these, and other projects, he has instructed client personnel and advised clients on correct data collection methodology. Design is conducted using both statistical packages which he has coded coupled with the best available from other sources.

Dr. Mathis has authored several Edumine web-based courses on Rock Mechanics.

 Simon Houlding

Simon Houlding is a Vancouver-based professional engineer with an international practice providing services for information management, computer modeling and education to the environmental, resource and geotechnical sectors ... a specialist in 3D computer modeling applications in the geosciences since 1979, including development of modeling, geostatistics and spatial analysis techniques that have become accepted practice in the geosciences, and founder and director of technical services of Lynx Geosystems Inc.

In conjunction with the Edumine website, Mr. Houlding assists RGC with the developemnt of web-based analysis Tools.
Edumine
is the professional development division of the Infomine website providing online Professional Development and Technical Reference for Mining and the Geosciences.
